Contact angle under the microscope: A new innovative component for the modular measuring system KRÜSS DSA100 was specially created for very small sample areas - for hairs, micro fibres, circuit paths. A piezo dosing unit produces very small drops exactly down to 50 pl. A flexible LED illumination with low thermal radiation and customisable optical system lead to an exquisite image quality. Camera systems with image acquisition rates from 25 up to 1000 fps are available. Additional observation optics provide a precision landing of the drop. Films or snaps of nano drops are scrutinised via image analysis. The DSA software exposes the contact angle and supports a wide range of evaluation methods.
