This new fully automatic TLC developing device, launched in April 2005, produces the same great separations regardless of climatic conditions or operator skills. The strong points of TLC are the flexibility, the wide polarity range of stationary phases, and the high number of mobile phases available. Today this technique has reached a level of sophistication, which allows reliable qualitative and quantitative determination of a great variety of substances in different matrices and with high accuracy and precision. With this new instrument from CAMAG the activity of the stationary phase, the chamber saturation, and the layer preconditioning are kept under close control, providing separation conditions that assure reproducible migration distances and Rf values.
