On-line turbidity and suspended solids measurement with innovative self-cleaning system
Two of the most important online measurements in a modern waste water plant are turbidity and suspended solids. To ensure accuarcy, a clean sensor is critical to this optical measurement. WTW introduces the next generation in turbidity and suspended solids optical sensors the VisoTurb 700 IQ™ and ViSolid 700 IQ™ . The VisoTurb 700 uses infrared light for turbidity measurements in aqueous media in compliance with DIN /EN /ISO 7027. The ViSolid 700 sensor for suspended solids measurement uses scattered light for total accuracy. To ensure optimum results WTW has developed a new cleaning system using ultrasonic technology for these sensors. An integrated source producing high frequency ultrasonic waves, continually cleans the optical window of the sensor. In this way fouling is stopped before it can occur and the system doesn't ever require manual cleaning. For the day to day work at waste water plants the new cleaning system means a significant reduction in sensor maintenance, along with a more accurate and reliable measurement.
