In order to complement the measuring parameters of polarization and refractive index, Schmidt+Haensch has developed a new laboratory density meter, the EDM-ρ. This instruments operates based on the newest principle, the oscillating tube, and convinces the user by its highest precision and reproducibility, extremely short times of measurement, calibration at a freely selectable temperature in the range from 0 to 90°C, automatic correction for the viscosity of the sample, automatic detection of bubbles, very low volume of sample (1 mL) needed and by the integration of several scales and functions.
The EDM-ρ may be used in very different applications in order to determine the density of fluids in the food and beverage industry, for example for the determination of the content of alcohol, sugar, or extracts in juices, wine and spirits; as well as specific applications in the petrochemical, chemical pharma and cosmetic industry, and in the area of research and development.
