Monitor the cleaning procedures during production simply by measuring the contact angle
Construction glasses are an integral part of the modern buildings. They fulfill multiple functions, from the simple thermal isolation to an acoustic isolation, shielding against solar radiation up to a parameter in the structural static calculation of the building. These construction glasses are build of at least two (or more) sheets of glass, joined with a sealing paste and an aluminum frame. The poor thermal conductivity of the enclosed air is the main reason for the thermal isolation, and the sandwich structure the reason for the stability support to the construction. Before assembling the construction glass, the sheets of glass have to be cleaned, especially those surfaces which will be covered with the sealing mass. Krüss has published an application note describing the determination of the contact angle before and after the cleaning process of glass, and thereby monitoring directly during the production, the cleaning process of these glass surfaces.
