Automatic Glass-Pipette Cleaners / Washers
Absolute cleanliness of Glass-Pipettes is a must in every medical and biological laboratory because the glass pipettes are being re-used many times over. The required cleanliness at any level is obtained by the Hoelzel Automatic Pipette Cleaners/ Washers via the submerged in-bath-technique, i.e. total immersion, along with gentle thermal agitation of the cleaning bath. The cleaning process covers the following steps: Soaking, cleaning, rinsing, drying. Depending on pipette dimensions, up to 1400 pipettes may be handled in a single run. Pipettes from 0.1 ml, incl. Pasteur Pipettes, up to 100 ml Volume Pipettes are applicable. The cleaning bath, consisting of tap- or destilled water, may be heated up to 95°C. Cleaning detergent of approx. 50 ml is added automatically as needed from a 5 l reservoir. For contamination-free rinsing pure tap water, tap water with neutralizer, such as citric acid, destilled - and/or bi-destilled or de-ionized water may be applied. The rinsing process can be repeated several times over. The drying of the pipettes is done in the same environment as cleaning and rinsing by using the same heating element as was used for heating the cleaning solution. The drying temperature may be chosen up to 130°C. The automation comprises nine process programs covering the selection of up to three types of water, the correct dosage of detergent, the soaking and cleaning temperature, the resident time, the rinse cycles and appropriate choice of water out of three, the repetition of the rinse cycles plus the drying temperature and duration. The Hoelzel Automatic Pipette Cleaners/Washers are designed to run unattended during the day and over night.
