Analytik Jena's qTOWER 2.2 Quantitative Real-Time PCR Thermal Cycler enables quantitative real-time PCR. The open platform accommodates standard 96-well SBS format microplates, 0.2 mL tubes and 8 well strips and is optimized for reaction volumes of 10-60µL. To achieve maximum thermal conductivity, superior temperature uniformity (±0.2°C) and corrosion resistance, the qTOWER 2.2 is designed with a gold-coated silver block. Outstanding homogeneity and temperature uniformity are combined with efficient, state-of-the-art heating rates of up to 5.5°C/sec and cooling rates of up to 4.0°C/sec. To avoid condensation and potential sample loss, the qTOWER 2.2 is also equipped with a heated, motorized pressure lid.
qTOWER 2.2's LED and fiber optic-based lighting system, with an industry-leading 10-year warranty, excites fluorescent dyes in a wide spectral range and enables generation of high signal intensities without the need for a passive reference dye (ROX). The system offers a selection of 12 excitation color and FRET modules for placement in up to 6 positions. Read-out of a 96-well microplate takes only 6 seconds, independent of the number of dyes to be measured. Furthermore, qTOWER 2.2 features a gradient function with 12 individual temperature zones and up to a 40o C span. The software interface allows users to precisely define the cycle programming and includes evaluation algorithms for absolute and relative quantification, delta-delta Ct, PCR efficiency, melting curve, endpoint analysis and allelic discrimination. The software is license-free, meaning it can be installed on multiple PC-based computers at no additional cost to the customer.
