New Vis and UV/Vis Spectrophotometers from Camspec
Camspec, the leading UK specialist supplier of UV/Visible Spectrophotometers, has recently completed its latest family of products with the launch of the new M508 basic programmable UV/Visible Spectrophotometer. Like its smaller visible M108 brother instrument, which was launched late last year, the M508 has a stylish 9-button keypad and a 4-line, 20-character display and stores up to 200 methods or results.

The M508 features an optional 40-character built-in thermal printer. It has an excellent specification: 200-1000 nm wavelength range, 5 nm bandwidth and stray light 0.1 % at 220 nm and 340 nm. The stray light specification is made possible by the use of conventional tungsten-halogen and deuterium light sources. The internal software of the M508 and M108 allows linear or linear through zero concentration calibration using up to 8 standards and up to 3 replicates. Method number and name, wavelength, date and time, and units, may also be printed out or stored. In addition, the optional PC software allows up to 3rd order concentration curves, time scans, and wavelength scanning.

The M508 and M108 are supplied with a manually operated 4-cell changer with a holder for 4 standard rectangular 10 mm path length cells. This is especially useful for changing quickly between blank and sample measurements. The M508 is also supplied with 2 UV silica cells and 4 glass cells, while the M108 is supplied with 2 glass cells. A wide range of sample handling accessories is available for both instruments.

Camspec now offers a continuously graded range of 7 spectrophotometers from the most basic student visible M105 through to the Pharmacopoeia compliant double beam UV/Visible M550.
